Just thinking out loud as I rething my oldser son.
His interest may be in computers, but right now is it an overload? or did his not find a job in that industry due to lack of openings.
My 28 yr old works pt. He was in computer area years ago, then security. The security is not tough on the brain or body for him. He is getting over the depression but still has the physical problem of seizures and cardiac problems.
Now he talks of going to license as Massage Therapist. It is a 2 year program, but after not finishing the computer course voc rehab paid for I wonder if he can get financing for this.
So like you, I want him working self sufficient, but it has to be a realistic goal. I do not want to worry the second training wll fail,
I wish he would do more security, but some jobs they take advantage of him. Working too many hours, or he is alone if having a seizure. they found him on the step of guard shack one midnight shift and thought he as asleep being disoriented, the last thing he recalls was everything going far away. He lost the job.
So now I am trying to figure out another grown son's life so one day when I am gone he will be able to take care of himself and or a family.
Not sure what to tell you Donna, if school is good, but not good is staying home. He has to do something to get out and have at least pocket money and be with people. I saw the change in my younger son when he finally took a pt job. He just needs more hours they do not have.
Maybe he will get financing from grants and follow through schooling to finding a great position or self employment. Both our boys.
