Headaches are so random when it comes to the cause of, it's really hard to say. It really depends on the location, the pain type and then what was going on that could be a trigger.

In your case, it could very well be stress. However, if it's in a more defined area to the left side and depending on the area and again, the pain type (shocking) it could be something like TN.

Considering everything you have going on, I'd probably roll with stress. You should do what you can to try and relax yourself some because stress can do a lot of very unkind things to your body. I would try having some black coffee and cut back as much as you can on sweets and sugar. That should help out with your headache.

Keeping yourself tense can cause more pain down the road (I did this, so I'm giving advice based off of my own mistake). I didn't really think of muscles above my neck until I had an actual knot around my temple. Mind you, I have Trigeminal Neuralgia (Right Side) but this was triggering it. I didn't know it was even possible to get knots in some of the areas I have. I'm still in Physical Therapy for the knots in my neck, it's been almost 6 months now (I'm paying out of pocket at this point).

What she has me do (hopefully you can do this to avoid tension headaches) is hold your head straight while sitting up straight (with arms to side). Slowly look to the right while keeping your head straight (aligned, whatever that term is). Then back to the middle, then left. Then put your chin to your chest and hold it for a few seconds, then look up - then roll your head from back to front.

While going through this stressful time, just try to remind yourself several times a day to relax (physically, relax your body) and loosen up your neck and shoulder areas.

As far as the twitches, I have those lots and my doctor even saw them and has no clue!

If the headache stays, try some OTC medicine or ask your doctor for caffeine type of medicine (Butalbital/Fioricet). They work for milder episodes (non-migraines).

Try black coffee first, its cheaper.

Hope the headache fades soon, I just finished moving and it was horrible (I hate my new house).
