Whatever window you decide to put it in she can know that it will stay there after you leave so she can use it as an "extra" for the next tenant. They'll have a "cool room" should the A/C ever go out again.

Florida law doesn't allow us to deduct anything from the rent without written approval from the landlord.

I should have bought my own portable or window a/c years ago just in case something like this happens. The master bedroom and living room don't have windows, just huge sliding glass doors so I would have to get one of those portable things that don't require a window. I haven't read anything good about them though so I have been hesitant to get one.

Fortunately, this is something I won't have to worry about for too much longer .
