Waves,

Can you explain your use of the word "recede"?
I think you are using it in a legal way . . I can gather what you mean by it. You say you don't want to recede.

Quote:
that feels dishonest because, to me, a "leave" implies a temporary absence with intent to return. in this case, it would be an economic maneuver, an attempt to push them to recede thereby avoiding a penalty for quitting without notice. it is irrelevant that i am too messed up to work right now, because when i am better, i want to do something ELSE, not go back there! so i have NO intent to return.

One thing that is clear here is that you have decided that you are not going back. This is big news! And a big change since this last weekend.

I sort of took a medical leave from one job and then did not go back and then was fired. I did not taking the medical leave willingly. I was forced. It was complicated.

Anyway. We each decide with how much honesty we we can live with. I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Lots of medical leaves are used as transitions.

I wonder if you make things harder for yourself by doing one thing and than feeling not ok about it (here and in other posts). It might be easier for you if you could
~ make decisions easier or
~ take an action (not going to work) and make a decision based on that action (medical leave)

I'm trying to be helpful. Really. I want whatever is best for you.

M.
