I'm glad you found this site too. You're already posting on the depression & concussion forums, so clearly you don't need a navigator!
I've had a few concussions but don't remember how long i took pain meds--just that the older I got the longer it was. I stopped jumping horses in my late thirties on doctor's advice.
Haven't you talked with your doctor about these concerns? I'm pretty sure if you do, if you let him/her know how concerned you are, your concerns will be put into a more realistic context than your imagination is stirring up now.
