Amber,

Unfortunately it is important to get all meds down to a dose that will allow your doctor to more efficiently titrate your intrathecal dose once your pump is in.
To some extent when your doctor said what he said about not increasing the dose is correct as our bodies just become tolerant to them. It seems as though our pain is increasing where in fact it is just that the same amount of drug we are used to is just no longer useful.
This is when there needs to be an alterative or a complete change in medications. I certainly don't mean that we should not stop trying to find pain relief but there is no point in taking huge amounts of something that no longer works.
I hope that you will be able to find something that will get you through, this is where Ketamine would really be wonderful for you! Is it a possibilty for you ?
