If you are applying for Social Security Disability, FMLA is of no concern to you. FMLA is a "place keeper" for your job, keeping your benefits and employment from being adversely affected by an illness, injury, adoption requiring time away form the job, or the birth of a child. FMLA also protects one while caring for a spouse as well. But FMLA has absolutely no bearing on your eligibility for disability.
