I have been diagnosed with an aneurysm described by a Neurosurgeon as large 1.6 x 1.1 cm.
This was Thursday 09-15-2011 seen with MRA imaging.

I have seen a Neurosurgeon (09-16-2011), and after some discussion, I have opted out of emergency surgery (clipping) for the opportunity to see if I am a candidate for coiling. I will most likely see that specialist today or tomorrow.
It is to my understanding that during the evaluation if it is determined I am a candidate then the coiling (using glue was also mentioned) will be done at that time.

Please excuse my random thoughts here:
I am having problems with trying to speak, for example if I am trying to ask someone to get a stapler for me, I cannot get the word stapler out of my mouth. I can see the object in my mind and even see the word in my mind but not able to speak of it out loud.
I asked the Neurosurgeon if this aneurysm was possibly causing problems with my speech. He did say the aneurysm is sitting behind the eyes and on top of the speech center of the brain, so, yes it is possible.

I did want to ask the Doctor, but forgot, if it was possible that this was also causing mood swings, irritability, impatience, forgetfulness, and other strange (for me) issues. So, I am asking you fine folks here: is this possible?

I do have questions about coiling is it permanent? Safe?

How about clipping is it permanent? Safe?

Will any of these procedures cause the aneurysm to shrink and possibly alleviate the problems with speech and other psychological issues?
Needless to say I am very concerned (scared) at this point. The unknown of the next 24 hours is stressful.
