I feel your pain. I have had 6 teeth extracted and every time- dry socket. I figured it out that it's because I clench my teeth at night and that creates a suction in your mouth. The same reason they say not to smoke, because the suction dislodges any clot or packing. Clove oil and/or packing (they sell it at pharmacies) helped a little, but I HATE cloves, so I was too grossed out to continue. I was told if I need extractions again (and I'm sure I will) to wear a mouth guard at night so I can't clench down.

I had to get some percocet the last time, I went to my primary doctor and begged. I was sitting on the step of the oral surgeons with an ice pack on my face, rocking in pain for 2 hours before they opened and once they got in- was basically told Tylenol 3 was the best they could do, so I called my PCP and he gave me a script, he knew I wasn't going to abuse it.

I'd see your PCP, it can't hurt to ask. If not, to the ER I would go, then to a lawyer, since they are basically refusing to treat you.
