MrsD, my kids played that joke on me when they were young. They had a rubber snake that looked very real from a distance. They thought it'd be funny to put it on the ground beside my tomato plants in the back yard. That thing scared the daylights out of me. It looked so real - especially when I really wasn't expecting to see it. Needless to say, I looked around carefully from that day on before stepping off the porch into the backyard.
