Hello,

My chemist sold me Blackmores pain releif Cream for my back pain. It contains Comfrey. It says Symphytum officinale (Comfrey) extract equiv to fresh root 175mg/g. I also read that it can be very toxic to liver. I assume that it is worse when ingested, than applied topically to lower back. I am worried about using it because we don't get enough information on some of these ointments that chemists peddle over here. I need a more natural alternative to voltaren pills for when my back plays up.

Does anyone know if this is safe to use?
