p.s. still mortified that he did not think changes in pupil did not raise a red flag. so glad my pain doctor was able to witness it.
my sugar levels are within normal range
and it is time to sit with my pc dr. and figure out what needs addressing first

I agree with Dr. Smith. It is your family physician's main responsibility to be the facilitator in all these specialists. I only had one script for pain meds from my neurosurgeon and that was upon discharge from the hospital immediately after surgery. All my other scripts for pain meds or otherwise have come through my family doctor. I think you should write a list of your concerns and bring them to an appt. with him. Do it in person if possible, they don't like doing things such as narc scripts over the phone. I get a much better reception when they see my face and talk to me. Then they can understand how you are feeling better by reading your expressions and body language.

Good luck, I understand your concern with work, I'm going through the same with mine. They aren't thrilled with me being off this long either.
