Hi Bryanna,
Thanks for your response. will try to get there today or tomorrow (have 2 young kids so need a babysitter)
I wish i had been told all this info and not have to resort to loking it up on the internet. It makes me really angry, as i feel i have been calling them constantly asking questions.
I wasn't aware i needed the gauze to help the healing process - i thought it just helped the pain, which is why i was treating it myself. They told me it was up to me if i wanted to come back in and get it re-packed when it came out, but that it wasn't necessary.
The pain isn't as intense anymore and i seem to be getting my appetite back. but still can't eat much....on the plus side i lost 5kg in 3 days

seem to be managing the pain with ibuprofen as i can't take anything stronger as it knocks me out...which prob isn't good trying to look after 2 kids.
thanks again

I know this is scary, but it will feel so much better once the debridment is done and the socket will be packed again with an impregnanted piece of gauze that smells like clove oil. You may have to go back to the dentist a few more times for him to repack it.
Please don't try to do this on your own, it will not work, get in to see him as soon as you can.
Let us know how you are doing!
