I like the idea of a vest... i think i'd do natural denim. i wouldn't get white because the easiest (if not only) way to get certain stains out is to bleach and that would totally mess up the patch once it's on.... so...

have you considered getting a black jeans jacket/vest? the patch would sorta blend like it was printed on then...

i think for your weather i'd go with the vest option too, in terms of getting more wear. for colder weather, you can wear a sweater or sweatshirt under the vest.

the one thing i saw in some of the jacket models posted was some were cut-offs (waist-level)? i like my vests just a tad longer... not real long but not midriff or even close... the style vest you posted looked good. this is personal taste though.
