The basic problem with doctors and especially neuro's is there is very little they can do for us. Plus, since there is no definitive diagnostic for concussion, they are limited. They try to maintain the attitude that if they cannot image or otherwise diagnose it, it is not necessarily a real injury. Add to that the many times an insurance company has denied the existence of the concussion just to save claims payouts and we get hit with a double whammy.
It follows the old adage commented by the doctor who cannot identify the cause of a certain pain; "You'll feel better when the pain goes away."
Very few doctors know how to say four simple words; "I do not understand."
