Hi Jacobc98225,
I have had MG since 1995 and know all to well what you are taking about. I finally decided it was just too hard to continue working and filed for SSDI in 2005. While it did take me three years to finally get approved (1st denial...appeal...2nd denial...appeal ) it did happen at the Hearing in about 20 minutes.

Getting approved for SSDI the first time is rare but in some cases it does happen. I didn't get a lawyer until my second denial so I'm not sure if I would have gotten approved before that with one or not. He did handle all the filings and paperwork in order to get a hearing scheduled so that was something that I didn't have to worry about. I do know that documentation and support of your treatment plan from your Neurologist and other physicians is imperative to getting approved. Approval also has a lot to do with your treatment plan.

Have you discussed filing for SSDI with your Neurologist?
