It is not all that unusual to be misdiagnosed WITH this disorder. There are a number of conditions that have similar symptoms. It is not at all straight forward.

Misdiagnosis can go either way. Sometimes they don't think it is CRPS when it really is, and other times you get diagnosed with everything under the sun when it is CRPS.

CRPS is one of the most misdiagnosed conditions......that is because it is one of the most misunderstood conditions of the human body. Even by professionals. Very common to find doctors, therapists, etc. that don't know jack about CRPS. In their defense, it is a very unique, tricky condition.
