Default Hiccups

Treatment for chronic hiccups based on a paper written by Janet Travell, MD years ago.

Lean forward.Take a deep breath and exhale. Then gently touch an object, such as the back of a spoon of spatula (helps if you cool it in ice first), to the uvula palatina, the pendulum tissue which hangs down in the back of the throat.Though it may cause slight gagging it stops hiccups instantly.
