Dear Rolocoy -
I know this isn't all
that local, but you can easily pull up the names of four pain management specialists in the Houston area, each of whom not only completed a one-year post-residency in pain medicine, but their underlying training was in neurology, which is particularly useful in terms of really understanding CRPS.
As I have expressed elsewhere on this page, there is helpful directory of certified pain specialists, maintained by the American Board of Pain Medicine. With the exception of some notable specialist in the field who were "grandfathered in," all applicant must first complete a one year fellowship in pain medicine - after their residencies - and then sit for an 8 hour written exam.
Here's its search engine
http://www.association-office.com/ab...dir/search.cfm Please note that each doctor is listed with a specialty or origin, i.e. the pre-fellowship residency. As a rule, for RSD/CRPS, I would avoid people coming from a physical medicine background, and lean instead towards neurology, internal medicine, or the like, recognizing that the bulk of practitioners will have a background in anesthesiology, which is okay, but may not be great when it comes to the cutting edge stuff.
If you run it for Texas as a whole, you'll get 147 results. And who knows? You may well recognize a smaller city on your I-20 corridor that I wouldn't know about. But, if you instead restrict your search not only to Texas, but use the "Demographics" tab to pull up only doctors whose "specialty of origin" is neurology, the closest I can get you is Dallas or Houston, which isn't all that close.
But, if we go back to Shreveport, I get three board certified pain specialists, two of whom have done residencies in neurology:
Randall P Brewer, MD (Neurology AND Anesthesiology)
River City Intervent Pain Spec
7925 Youree Drive Suite 280B
Shreveport, LA 71105
Phone: (318) 212-3636
Fax: (318) 212-3819
---
Debra G Elliott, MD
LSU Health Sciences Center, Shreveport
1501 Kings Hwy Dept OF
Shreveport, LA 71103
Phone: (318) 675-8962
Fax: (504) 584-1727
Now, that said, Dr. Elliott is apparently primarily a headache specialist, but that doesn't mean that she's not in a position to treat CRPS, she could almost certainly refer you to someone else if there is someone better qualified in the area.
And as far as Dr. Brewer is concerned, here is what appears to be his homepage, listing an interest in CRPS.
http://directory.wkhs.com/PhysicianP...?link=11112891 However, there is on that page a somewhat greater emphasis of Spinal Cord Stimulation, and I don't know how you would feel about being pushed into that, where as you have no doubt seen, it is an area of some controversy in this forum.
Finally, the third board certified pain specialist in Shreveport, who, while more of a strait-ahead anesthesiologist, does appear to have some significant professional credentials:
RANDALL C. CORK, M.D., Ph.D. [Electrical Engineering]
Professor and Chair Director, Pain Management
Department of Anesthesiology
School of Medicine in Shreveport, LSUHSC
A PDF copy of Dr. Cork's CV can be found here, including a listing of his many published papers, honors and awards.

For what it's worth.
Mike
