Most of the meters today are very accurate. One Touch reads the sample twice. It can give 5 error messages if you do something wrong by mistake.

I think the technology today is really swift. The new mini One Touch is free, or only $19.99 in stores.

Older meters? meh? can't say for them as things have changed radically very recently. And don't expect the batteries to last more than a year at regular use. The batteries can decline and give very inaccurate readings.
