I am not versed on the stats for working bipolar folks but know that it is about a 50/50 here on these boards who work.
I work 3/4 time. self employed set my own hours etc.
I am sorry that you struggle with suicidal thoughts, there is a forum for you in that regards here it is called Survivors of suicide...SOS under the general heading at the index. they support people with suicidal depression as well as those who have lost a loved one.
Are you taking a mood stabilizer?
have you ever tried adding abilify to an antidepressant, they advertize that it helps.
