Question

Chronic severe pain, whether neuropathic or otherwise, is a real bear to get a safe handle on pain meds.

I currently take Tramadol, Tegretal, Topamax, Clonazepam, Hydro-codon, Cymbalta bridge and 1600mg a day of Ibuprofen. My pain is still hanging around 6 to 7.5 out of 10 pain level.

For the reasons mentioned my doctors, including a pain specialist, would not allow Lyrica. Ironically, the pain specialist did want to "try" a limited controlled dose of Ketamine, a horse tranquilizer administered in-patient.

I am sorry to hear you are having difficulties with finding the correct meds for pain and then tweaking for the correct dosage to be safe and effective. Many members here have very extensive experience in this area to provide better information. I am not the best example in this category. Let me add, I do not have MS, as originally diagnosed, my symptoms are much more severe yet still similar in many area.
