My guess is that I'm not diabetic and my vitamin levels are OK -- I take supplements and eat high-B12 seafood regularly. But the lab tests will tell.
My mother developed peripheral neuropathy a decade or more ago. My initial guess (and of course this will yield to medical findings as they arise!) is that my neuropathy is hereditary and, if like hers, idiopathic.
I look forward to learning from the people on this forum. What I've read so far has impressed me a lot!

My name is Melody and I'd like to welcome you to Neurotalk.
My husband has had neuropathy for over 20 years. His sister just got diagnosed with it, his mom had Guilliam Barre Syndrome and so far they have no clue why people in his family have neuropathy.
I'm a diabetic and I was diagnosed with neuropathy over 2 years ago. Began Methyl B-12 supplementation and never looked back since.
