Thumbs up

Donna.

make sure the Vit D is vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). this is readily available OTC in the US, even in high doses capsules. when you first start using it, you will have to request regular testing 3-6 months a year (depending on the dosage you start on).

If it is obtained by prescription, only vit D2 is prescribed which is not well utilized by our bodies. (i.e., useless). goodness knows why they are still prescribing that kind there. but anyway.

a caution:

be very careful if you also supplement with calcium (until you establish the correct vit D dose to take, you should probably avoid it but talk to your doctor.) this is because vit D increases calcium absorption, and there is a risk of hypercalcemia. this typically happens only with very high levels of vitamin D, but if you take calcium as a supplement also, then all bets are off.

i hope you find what you need to help ease your pain. i am sorry you suffer from fibro and that you are having a bad flare
