If you are unable to work due to the severity of your disabilities, you should consider applying for SSD. If you have the work credits you'd apply for SSDI. If you don't, then you'd apply for SSI. SSI does have asset restrictions, but that doesn't seem likely to be an issue if you're facing homelessness. You can actually qualify for both programs... At age 60, the standard is lowered for qualifying for SSD because the government considers that it's harder for you to adapt to your disabilities in the short period before you retire, and that you'll have more difficulty finding an employer that will hire you.

If you check out the Catch 22 sticky in the SSD forum, there are links for different resources. At age 60, additional subsidized housing programs may be available as well. Sometimes moving to a neighboring city or county, can mean the difference between being put on a wait list for years, or getting help right away.

One other thing to consider, some state's offer a subsidy to SSI beneficiaries. You might want to consider that if you're going to be forced to move anyway.

If you apply for cash aid, Medicaid, and/or food stamps, and you have a court order requiring that you receive alimony, the county or state you live in might help you pursue collection from your ex.

I was making pretty broad assumptions of resources that might be applicable to you. If you know what type of resources you'd like to pursue, and provide any additional relevant details, I'll certainly be happy to try and do a little research for you.
