As alice said, this doesn't seem like a crisis. a crisis is where you cannot breathe, swallow, or move well. (mostly requiring breathing help or no food via mouth-npo).
I have never had a crisis due to an emoyional outbreak, but a crisis is a crisis there is no in between. it's scary, and life threatening.
Your wife should not be increasing her prednisone without telling/asking her doctor, that in its self Is dangerous as well...
as for your question about numerous crisis'...no a crisis again, is a crisis. It does not get worse numerically. More/different muscles can be affected yet not from having one numerous times.
If your wife's breathing gets to the point where it is labored, go in. If she is resting and does not feel stronger, go in. if her swallowing muscles become fatigued, go in. That's ultimately the guideline I've recieved.
