Default MP sever the nerve?

I go in a for the surgery where they clip the LCFN or sever it, whatever the medical term is.

The Dr. says of course the leg will be numb, but that may relieve my pain.

I have questions that a Dr. can't answer and I'm hoping someone here has had or knows someone who they can ask who has had this done.

1) Where does the numbness start after the surgery (from where to where)
2) What kind of numbness is it (like a lidocaine numbness) like a deadened numbness.

3) Is there any phantom pain?
4) How was your recovery?

Lastly, the Dr. mentioned that it could be regional complex pain syndrome? and that if this failed there was still another route to take. There is a place in California (cause it's close) and one in Chicago? who do some special surgery for people where the nerve sever doesn't work. Has anyone heard about this procedure. I know it's not failed back surgery, but it was something he said only a few Dr's in the country can even do.

Thanks.
