Hi Bryanna: absolutely, someone with diagnosed iron overload should avoid all sources of iron, no matter how small.

It's disturbing how many people have thyroid problems. There are endocrinologists who really know their stuff and will tease out potential causes, but a regular family doctor doesn't. So if you have thyroid issues, go to an endocrinologist.

Bryanna is right, Ginnie, about starting slow on Chlorella. It will give you gastrointestinal upset, gas and diarrhea! Take 1/4 of the recommended dose, usually it comes in little tablets that you take a palmful of daily. After a month of tolerating that, then go to 1/2 the amount, and increase over several months. There's no hurry to load up on it as it's not going to change your health overnight. And there may be other things that will help you, like vitamins you may be deficient in, so checking with a doctor who knows alternative medicine/detox protocols would be an excellent idea. There are some who can do consults via phone if there isn't one close to you.

Back to my extraction, I did not know that they should do bone grafts at the time of extraction! Good to know. We'll see if he thinks I could do an implant there and, if so, plan on a graft at the same time.

I'll report tomorrow!
