I don't either, but I hear similar things quite often. There are several possibilities, but they'd all be speculation. I would think that the fact that it works for you would be enough for your doctor (or someone) to investigate further, or at least suspect something more.

I think I'd still read some of the links I suggested, and focus on talking about the pain and the effect it has on your day-to-day life. Rather than assuming it's just PN, ask about a cause/reason, and proceed from there.
