I just started taking CoQ10 recently, because I think my PN is caused by long-term Mitochondrial Dysfunction. In the past my PN has got worse when my MD has been worse than usual.

The CoQ10 didn't seem to do much at first, probably because I usually eat several small meals through the day, and CoQ10 is best absorbed with food. It seems to work better after a full meal.

Now I've found out there may be a kind of CoQ10 that is better absorbed: Ubiquinol. Do we know if it's much better than Ubiquinone?

I've been taking 200-300mg per day but may increase it since it's a pretty safe supplement. I read that PQQ is more effective with CoQ10.

I also read that old age can do worse damage to the mitochondria than statins. If so, our seniors may want to consider increasing their dosage.

I am reading a decent book on CoQ10 by a doctor, although it is dated (1990s). A comment about periodontal issues was interesting. I think my gums look a little more pink and healthier than usual.

If I ever manage to sort out my PN, I'm going to be pretty healthy! My BP is already down to 109/70 with a resting HR in the 60s.
