Default One step at a time

Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I have widespread osteoarthritis, chronic pain and on lots of meds. I need to lose 10 kilos, more so, I need to get fitter than I am now. I am hoping by putting it out there I may be more inclined to keep at it and not give up. I want to take it slow, last August I started at the pool, all went well for a while, until I did too much then could hardly walk for months, it has taken me this long to get over it. I want to get back to the pool but make sure I only do 30 minutes exercise. I am going away with my folks at the end of February for a month, they need my help to get away. I have to be able to take my mum out and help keep my intellectually handicapped sister occupied. Some days I am OK and some not so good, but I just have no motivation, sitting at the computer losing myself is so much easier. I am into photography, but find carrying the camera around too much for me a lot of the time. I force myself to go out, I know I will suffer for it the next day, but just to do what other folks do for a short while is quite therapeutic. I have finally learnt to say NO when people make demands on me that I cannot cope with. My son's partner has three children from a previous marriage, I like to look after the kids at times, but the last time was over 24 hours, I cannot cope with that so I said if we have them overnight they have to go back by lunchtime the next day. They are high functioning autistic. Hopefully my daughter will have her first baby in August (2 miscarriages) so we have our fingers crossed. I need to be fitter to be there at the birth. I would also like to go on a holiday in November with my husband, I would like to be able to walk and take photos. I am going to start with a walk around the block, I feel I can say that here and so many of you will understand that it is an achievement. I did some weights today, not that long but a little, I do not want to get sore. Well that is my story, I will look forward to when I can say hey guys I have lost 1 kilo, then another up to 10. Oh I am 58 and so slack LOL
Cheers
Dee
