I think venison is an acquired taste.
I know when I tried it many years ago I couldn't stand the smell of it cooking.... blech. The odor just killed my appetite!
I used a mint jelly with it like lamb, and that helped. Mixing it into meatballs or a small meatloaf with seasoning, and another meat sounds like a good idea to me.
I just couldn't stomach it though.
