Morbid Obesity and Disability
Hello,
Morbid Obesity USED to be considered an impairment for SS disability. But they deleted that catagory. But they are supposed to "consider" the effects of MO when evaluating your other conditions.
Example: If you have breathing problems already, then they know that being MO will cause even more breathing problems, etc.
Sorry, wish I could have had a better answer for you, but that is what I found out when I researched that very subject a while back.

I don't want to get too specific, as I know it's a hard topic to talk about, but I know someone who has MO and can't afford the weight loss surgery and I doubt they would want it either after all the side effects of it. So anyway, is MO a condition they can and have approved SSDI for someone over?
