Default Update on stroke mentoring program

I am part of a new program that a local hospital is doing for brain injuries. (helping them, not giving them.) Stroke survivors act as mentors for other stroke survivors. The figure who best to act as a mentor than someone who has been through it? I hate to get cliche, but this is truely an area where unless you have been through it, you have no idea.

This week the stroke survivor group had a group session. The mentors see individual patients (I get my new list next week) and then the group gets together twice a month. There was a woman there Tuesday who is only 6 weeks out. She got upset at how the rest of us sounded. I still hate the way I sound. It broke my heart because I know exactly how she feels. Her husband said she is much better, but you never notice your own change. Funny. The other two mentors who were there are also attorneys. Attorney and brain injury? Coincidence? I think not.
