For me overall this last month (December) was worse then the month before. However it was also more stressful. I had finals the week before Christmas and had to write four papers and take three exams. By then end of the week I was a complete mess. I was mad and annoyed with everyone and would be yelling, then within minutes I would be crying for no reason. I felt like I had sacrificed so much of myself and my well being to get through that week alive that if someone had asked me to even 'pass the salt' I would have had a total breakdown. It was my lowest point by far.

Christmas shopping and multiple family Christmases (parents and grandparents are divorced) made for another very overwhelming week. This last week I have done as little as possible.

When I told all of this to my Neurologist he asked me how I was sleeping, and then prescribed me Amitriptyline (10mg once a day before bed, probably increasing it with every Neuro checkup). I have heard it mentioned on here a few times but I really know nothing about it. It is listed as an antidepressant but my Pharmacist says it is only prescribed now for sleep. The side effects all seam so extreme.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom about this med? How did it work for you?

Thanks
Hope everyone is having a good day!
I took it and it helped with my nausea, dizziness and headaches but I could sleep 14hrs or more a night if I didn't have school! I was told by my neurologist that its a temporary thing though!
