The court workers get snappy when people do not follow what seems to them to be simple rules
I have to deal with people in this unusual environment
Lawyers and cops make me nervous
The buildings and rooms themselves are designed to be intimidating
The last time I was in court was a few months after 9-11 to decide on a case involving someone being on the wrong side of the air port. The judge asked people if they felt too upset about 9-11 to stay on the jury. I stayed. But the defense lawyer asked me if I was more likely to believe cops then not believe cops. I said that cops lie. I told the truth and got to go home but I felt wrung out.
