Yes, it can get better, or relapse.

When I was at my worst, it was over 30 yrs ago! (low thyroid).

It is much better now than then, but now I have insulin resistance and that affects it too. My carpal tunnel is better, too, unless I use my hands too much. Didn't need the release surgery after all. (lately I am working on a small sewing project, and that set me back a bit.. have to wear my wrist brace at night for a while again).

The sciatic nerve qualifies as a sort of neuropathy too. Fix that and you will get better. Sometimes it heals up. I've had one attack of sciatica on the left, when I worked midnights over a decade ago. It healed up finally and is gone for now.

If you have sciatica try to avoid high stools for sitting. I think that is how I got mine-- from a stool at work. Many people have these high chairs/stools at their kitchen islands... and I think perching on them is hard on the sciatic nerve.
