Vaccines typically do not contain every strain of the disease they cover. Shingles --from chickenpox-- there are more than one strain out there.
Quote:
Zostavax®, the vaccine to prevent herpes zoster (also referred to as shingles or zoster), consists of attenuated (Oka-strain) varicella virus at a concentration at least 14 times that found in Varivax®, the vaccine to prevent varicella (chickenpox).
from http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/...accination.htm

The Gardasil vaccine also only has two strains of HPV out of many out there so coverage for it is spotty too. (strains 16 and 18 only).
This article claims there are over 100 strains of HPV out there:
http://www.rense.com/general75/100.htm
Quote:
These strains are: 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, and 68. Strains 16 and 18 are by far the most common types, and one or both are present in approximately 70% of cervical cancers worldwide. Despite this strong link, only a very small percentage of high risk HPV infections will ever become invasive cancer (estimated at 2%). The time between initial exposure and the development of cancer can vary from months to years, but the average time is thought to be 15 years.
Figures like these are typically used when governments try to mandate this vaccine for healthy young women (and now also suggested for young boys!). Texas tried to get mandatory vaccination with HPV vaccines, and this was blocked by concerned citizens finally. I think we will continue to see serious reactions for the HPV vaccines. The lobbies by Big Pharma can be very persuasive.

I believe that prescreening for potential vaccine injury is the way to go, and perhaps the medical establishment will move in this direction, in the future.
