MVD is for fixing any compression on the nerve . If you know it is from dental work... I agree with your idea that MVD May not be a wise or helpful surgery . I would tend to think if there isnt any compression and it is from dental work then going and manipulating the nerve and vessels could very well make things worse. That is my thoughts I am not a doctor. I also know that MVD dose help many people and is recommended as an option for lots of t.n. folks. there could be a compression coming from dental work I guess . Did the neuro show you on MRI a compression of the nerve?
