Default New to this site

Hi everyone! I found this site by surfing for info on PN. I have numbness/tingling/burning in both feet now. Started out at the end of 2010 with just one toe of one foot feeling like a sock was jambed in my toe. I didn't think too much about it but by March 2011 it was in both feet so I went to see my GP, and then a neurologist. Some blood tests were run and what came back I was high in B6 (97) and low in vitamin D (20). I had been taking a B complex from Trader Joe's and discovered the B6 was way over the RDA. I had only taken it for a couple of months. I stopped taking it and I still wasn't too concerned. Come September/October of this past year I started losing some strength in my legs. In November on the golf course my calfs felt really weak and tight. Now I was really worried. Back to the neurologist for MRI (negative) and more blood work. My B6 was still a little high (26) and D still a little low (24). Now I am scheduled for an EMG test.

I am 59 y.o. and have always been an active person. I have become really concerned about this to the point where I have to focus on being mentally positive so I don't feel depressed about my situation or what the progression may be. One other thing, I am apparently pre-diabetic with a blood fasting test once of 101 about 3 years ago. Since then I have had tests of 94, 88, and the last one 100.

So I am wondering where to go from here. My neurologist stated that 40% of this is idiopathic. I am not quite ready to accept that as yet. I just don't want to leave any stone unturned.

Any info would be appreciated.
