Nitrates tend to dilate blood vessels, and improve circulation.

They have a down side however, as the body tends to react with tolerance over time. In other words, the effects may wear off.

Valproate is a tough drug to tolerate. It affects carnitine metabolism, affects hormone expression and has hair loss among its nasty effects, and the latter two are what lead people to stop using it. It can also cause liver damage. All in all, a difficult drug.
