I drank a LOT before the PN started and then drank even more which was idiotic considering it was alcoholic PN.
It wasnt just for the pain killing though, I only now realize that i have been very depressed all my life and the booze was a way of masking it. Also my father died from alcoholic related cause.
about 6 months post PN my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and I was the only carer and thats when it kicked in the worst. Mercifully it was only several months but I started to drink a bottle of scotch every second day and that was just at home, I was also taking up to 450 mg of lyrica and this went on for another year.
Alcohol was the best pain killer by far when it kicked in but the next day was agony so more alcohol, pretty bad circle and will never go back there
These days I have a pint of guineas on a special occasion. The human body is remarkable in its tolerance to abuse , just look at keith richards from the Rolling Stones, nuff said
