I was super excited for this movie....#1 because i adore both the lead actors and #2 because of the traumatic brain injury role. I felt very fortunate that i did not lose any memories other than the night of my accident until i gained consciousness in the hospital.
But i must say, i was a little surprised that it didnt show more of the aftermath of the injury itself...like the headaches, anxiety, overstimulation, etc. The only time was when she first came home from the hospital and there was a large room full of people and she was overwhelemed. I told my friend that this was how i felt everytime i was in a crowded bar or room for months after my accident. Other than that, i was kinda envious of her for not having months of debilitating headaches. But also envious of myself for remembering all the years leading up to my brain injury.
If you havent read "My Life Deleted", by Scott Bolzan.....its pretty unbelievable. He had a blow to the back of the head and forgot pretty much every memory. Who he was, who his family was, who he loved, etc. He did not have a bleed, just a mild TBI with PCS. He was also previously an NFL player who most likely endured multiple sub-concussive impacts (if even full blown concussions), which just shows how fragile the brain is after already suffering an injury.
Make me very grateful that i am doing as well as i am for 9 months post injury. Thanking god everyday for the strength to keep healing and moving forward in life!

Began Healing in November 2011 after starting acupuncture and Healing Touch (a nurturing energy therapy that promotes relaxation and pain relief). I went back to work in February 2012. Ive been symptom free since July 2012. Very happy, positive, energetic and working out every day, doing yoga, and living a normal life again!
I also began taking Healing Touch classes in November 2011 and completed 5 Levels of Healing Touch Certificate Program that included a 1 year mentorship to become a Healing Touch International Practitioner in June 2013. I am so pleased to offer this wonderful healing therapy to my patients, friends, and clients.
