Maybe sometimes, but that is because of the nose plug, when turn on the machine gradually gets faster. There is a button there you can push it and it will lower the air. Most the time I am able to go right back to sleep. Sometimes it will dry you mouth out, you could have a bottle of drinking water handy. You are in my thoughts ad prayers.
