I love spring flowers. Where we are in an oak forest, we don't have much sun after early May. But the spring bulbs like it here, and they are joyful after a dreary winter.
I find fertilizer helps them spread faster.
The species type have smaller blooms, and make bigger clumps faster, than the taller bigger crocus that follow.
The white ones look splendid against the old oak leaves. We remove most of the leaves after the crocus bloom.
