Apparently it can be done if you're using Google Chrome with AdblockPlus.

On Adblock Plus for Chrome, just head to YouTube, click on the Adblock icon in your navigation bar, and hit "Easy Create Filter". Then, just click on one of the comments and it should highlight all of them. After hitting "Add", you should be free of YouTube comments forever.

I found something else called TweakTube -YouTube Enhancer
It's a Mozilla Extension that goes to AddOns in Firefox (which I use).
I've just added it and trying to figure out all the settings. Not sure I like it at the moment.
I'll let you know if it's ok before you go downloading it.
