Falling asleep with the TV on
For years I've slept in the recliner a night or two a week, now most nights. And for YEARS the TV has been on as I sorted out my blankets and pillows and got comfy. Sometimes I'd watch a little while, then shut it off and go to sleep.
Sometimes I'd doze off, wake up later, then shut it off. And nights when I was really anxious and jittery, I'd turn it to something "gentle", lower the volume, and leave it on all night. That got more and more frequent.
Well, something happened, I don't know what. All of a sudden, about maybe four or five months ago, I quit cold turkey. Just didn't want it on. After my husband goes to bed, I just shut it off.
I have no idea what's different. I mean, that was a 20-odd year routine, and I don't miss it one bit. He asked me why I didn't have the TV on at night anymore, and I had no answer for him *shrug*
