You can always join the rest of here on the forum when you can't sleep!

My sleep is so screwed up it isn't funny. I tried the Trazadone but thought I was having a reaction to it. Turns out it might have been a virus but I'm not sure. I might try it again when things settle down a bit. I actually dread going to sleep. In a 2 1/2 time period I might wake up perhaps as many as three times totally drenched in sweat and need to pee like you wouldn't believe. I also get severe muscle contractions. Hence, my aversion to sleep. I mainly sleep out of exhaustion right now. As soon as I am in a light sleep, the muscle contrations and sweating start. I get agitated and fight sleep when this happens. Sometimes the sweating doesn't start until I'm in a deep sleep and then I wake up totally soaked.

I set up an appointment to speak with a counselor soon to see if there is anything she can offer. My mind doesn't seem to shut off these days since my sleep got so screwed up. I think I'm going to have to retrain my self to sleep. My teen age daughter was recently diagnosed with two life long chronic pain conditions that are rare for the pediatric patient but not an adult. It has been a long haul caring for her during the night for the past few months.

Sleep is definately a problem for those with CRPS/RSD. Google sleep or insomnia and you should find some good websites with suggestions on sleep. I will have to look for the site I'm thinking of and post it later when I locate it.

For now, learn to to rest when you can even if you can't sleep. Rest still helps you make it through the day. If your riding in the car and someone else is driving, that is a good time to close your eyes and relax. Even if you don't fall asleep, you should feel better by the time you arrive at your destination.
