I have recently remapped some buttons on my keyboard to help me with typos.
There is a free program called Sharpkeys at
http://www.randyrants.com/2006/07/sharpkeys_211.html that makes remapping your keyboard easy. Click on the EXE link at Download Sharpkeys 2.1.1 |MSI | EXE | ZIP then click on Sharpkeys.exe when it has download. There is a FAQ for help. I have used this on a Windows 7& and Windows Vista system without problems, except I did it backwards first on both computers. You need to reboot after remapping the keys.
I have two keyboards with different positions for delete, home, and end. Now that have similar positions.
The best remap was the ability to Turn Off the Caps Lock key. I kept hitting Caps Lock when I was typing an A.
This program can be a bit of a challenge. I had to write down the keys i was remapping. I moved the Delete Key to the position that was the Home key by
setting up:
From To
Special:Insert (EO_52) Special: Home (EO_47)
Also, to turn the caps Lock key off:
From To
Special: Caps Lock (00_3A) Special: Turn Key Off (00_00)
Now, I will make just a few less typos as i type.
Hope this helps. Post Thanks if it helps. Groans are acceptable if I cause you trouble. LOL
