I see two major culprits for nerves that are causing discomfort:

1) Prilosec affects absorption of Vit B12. This can be tested for and if lower than 400 in US should be supplemented.
40mg a day is a high dose besides.
(other nutrients are affected by acid blocking drugs...
calcium, magnesium, folate, iron, zinc, B12, are what we know so far... and protein digestion is impaired as well. So some amino acids may be lacking).

2) Vytorin contains a statin, and statins are known causes of neuropathy. The statin in Vytorin is Zocor one of the most lipophilic (fat soluble) statins... and this one enters the brain and other nerves the most easily.

Burning skin is a form of peripheral neuropathy.
